Frequently Asked Questions
When will know about my Job?
Usually jobs are offered a week or two in advance of arrival. All Pub Jobs are offered by the pub managers so we do not have direct control over the timing of the offer. Depending on availability and the job market it can be a month in advance or a couple of days in advance. In the unlikely event that a job is not available prior to arrival we will book accommodation for you and continue to look for your position.

Who will I be working for?
Job offers come from pub managers at their individual sites, and you will be working for that manager. Your employment contract is with that manager or brewery and sets out the terms and conditions of employment. The details in the job description are supplied to us by the pub site manager and should be used as a guide to the current conditions.

Where will I be working?
We take into consideration your location preference but cannot guarantee that a job will be available in any particular place when you arrive. Our main priority is that you have accommodation and paid work for when you arrive in one of vetted and trusted pub sites. Once you have settled in and have met everyone you are bound to have a great time.

What will the Pub be like?
Typically we use traditional English Pubs with on site accommodation. Occasionally we have Australian themed pubs, modern style bars or country hotels that want to use our staff. Some pubs have off site accommodation, walking distance to the pub where you will be working. This will be explained in the job description, remember that they all have a UK experience to offer.

What will the work be like?
The working week is usually 39 to 48 hours depending on the trade and you take home between £160 to £200+ per week varying with the hours that you work any live in costs, meal allowances etc. as per your contract. The accommodation tends to be basic but functional, twin shared rooms with facilities provided is the norm. The real bonus here is location, no transport costs, and accommodation that is subsidised by your employer. You will not usually have to pay anything from your take home wage for the accommodation.

What does it cost?
There is a $200 registration fee upon acceptance into the program. The $245 program fee is payable when you receive the details of your pub job. If you have any questions or queries before you register you can send an email with the Contact Us button at the top of the page.

What do I do now?
You need to fill in the application form on this web page, attach copy of your resume and a photo. Remember you are applying for a job in the hospitality industry so smiley photos please! After you have registered with the program you meet with one of our reps who has been through our program and who will go through all the ins and out's of UK pub work. We then set to work on finding you a position and will inform you of the offers as they come in and you are on your way.

Do I need a Visa to work in the UK?
There are three ways you can legally enter the UK and undertake paid work.
1- If you hold a British or European passport you do not need a visa to work in the UK.
2- If you have a parent or grandparent born in the UK you can apply for an ancestry Visa through the British High Commission.
3- The most common form of visa for our applicants is the Youth Mobility Scheme. ( Tier 5)
The British High Commission, like all government departments, are very particular with their application processing so please double check your application before sending it off. Its is also a good idea to allow plenty of time, The British High commission is an Agent of The Home Office and therefore part of the the British Government and they are not influenced by outside agents or " Visa checking companies or services" who may charge to to check that you have correctly completed the form.

Anything else that I need to know?
The registrations fee is not refundable, if you change your flight, don't have a visa or change your mind, we will keep you registered on the program and you can come back in the future when your dates are confirmed. We are as flexible as we can be to your needs but to provide the best service you need to keep us informed. You will be working for a pub manager or a brewery owned pub. They set the terms and conditions. If you have any issues when you are in the UK you can contact our central London Office and we will work with you to resolve them.
